Celestial is an astrology app that provides natal charts, daily readings, live planetary transits, Western tropical and Vedic sidereal astrology profiles, placement cards, reports, and an Ask experience. Astrology can involve sensitive personal details, especially birth date, birth time, birth place, and the questions you ask. We designed this policy to be direct about those details.
By using Celestial, you acknowledge that your information will be handled as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, do not use the app.
2. Information We Collect
Account information
When you create or use an account, Celestial may collect identifiers such as your name, email address, sign-in method, account ID, authentication status, and app preferences.
Birth and astrology information
To calculate your chart, Celestial may collect your birth date, birth time, birth place, coordinates, timezone, and astrology system preference. The app may also store generated chart information such as planetary placements, signs, houses, degrees, Western or Vedic system, transits, daily readings, placement cards, and reports.
Ask and chat content
If you use Ask or other conversational features, Celestial may process the questions you submit, the generated responses, and related context needed to keep the conversation coherent. You should not submit information that you do not want processed for a response.
Subscription and purchase status
If you subscribe or make an in-app purchase, Apple processes your payment. Celestial may receive purchase status, entitlement, renewal, cancellation, trial, or receipt information needed to unlock paid features. Celestial does not receive your full payment card number from Apple.
Device, diagnostics, and usage information
Celestial may collect device type, operating system, app version, crash reports, performance information, approximate region, support messages, and analytics events. Analytics and diagnostics are used to understand reliability, improve the product, and prevent abuse.
3. How We Use Information
Celestial uses information to operate and improve the app, including to:
- Create and maintain your account.
- Calculate birth charts, daily readings, transits, placement cards, and reports.
- Keep Western and Vedic astrology profiles separate and accurate.
- Personalize readings and Ask responses based on your chart context and selected system.
- Provide subscription features, restore purchases, and manage entitlements.
- Respond to support requests and troubleshoot app issues.
- Detect abuse, protect service reliability, and enforce our Terms of Service.
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to valid legal requests.
4. AI and Astrology Processing
Some Celestial features may use backend services and AI providers to generate readings, explanations, placement cards, reports, or Ask responses. The information sent for processing may include relevant chart data, astrology system, transit context, and the question or prompt you submit.
AI-generated astrology content can be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your circumstances. Celestial content is for reflection, self-understanding, and entertainment. It is not medical, legal, financial, therapeutic, emergency, or other professional advice. If you need professional help, contact a qualified professional or emergency service.
6. Retention, Deletion, and Export
Celestial keeps information for as long as needed to provide the app, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce agreements. Birth data and chart data may be retained while your account is active because they are central to the service.
You may request deletion or export of your account information through the app where available or by using the Support form. Some information may remain in backups or logs for a limited period, and some records may be retained where required by law, fraud prevention, security, or accounting obligations.
7. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete, or object to certain processing of your personal information. You may also be able to limit notifications, analytics, or certain personalization features through app settings or device settings.
If you use Apple subscriptions, cancellation and refund options are managed through your Apple ID and App Store subscription settings.
8. Security
Celestial uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining access to your device, Apple ID, and account credentials.
9. Children
Celestial is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, use the Support form so appropriate action can be taken.
10. International Users
Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. Those countries may have data protection laws different from your local laws. Where required, Celestial uses appropriate safeguards for international processing and transfers.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Celestial changes. The effective date will be updated when the policy changes. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice in the app or through another appropriate channel.
